Kristin Palitza is a freelance journalist, editor and correspondent writing in-depth African features for the South African, German and UK print media. She has worked within the newspaper, news service, online and magazine sectors in South Africa, Germany and the United States for the past 15 years.

K%20interviews.jpgDuring her career, Kristin has covered a wide range of subjects - from socio-politics, to economics, human rights, culture, lifestyle, wildlife, health and education. She is used to working independently and under pressure and has a proven ability to write and edit accurate and original copy - breaking news, features, analysis and opinion - to tight deadlines.

She has worked for a wide range of national and international publications. Among other work, she has gained her writing and editing experience as news editor for South African news and photo agency zOOm Multimedia, as editor of African women’s rights journal Agenda, as a freelance journalist and correspondent for publications in South Africa and overseas, as editor and reporter at a daily business news service in New York City and as a freelancer for daily newspapers in Germany.

Kristin has experience in the conceptualisation, strategic planning, operations, day-to-day management, design, layout, printing and financial management of publications. She has also trained junior journalists.

Kristin holds a Masters Degree in Political Science, Literature and Linguistics. She lives in Cape Town, South Africa.
