Agenda 77: Community Media

Kristin produced and edited a journal on Community Media for African women's rights NGO Agenda. The 150-page publication is available worldwide and investigates the gender realities of community media in the global south.

Differently from mainstream media, community media has a mandate to reflect community and be owned by communiy, to promote and encourage media development, transformation and diversity.

Yet, authors of this journal find that women's representation and rights continue to be largely ignored or neglected in community media, and women still hold limited decision-making powers in this sector.
